A Little About Me, Andrea
Art comes in many forms, and in my case, it's through cookies!
My interest in baking and decorating began at an early age, helping my mother prep, bake and decorate cakes for her catering business. My love of baking and decorating continued to grow, and after years of self-taught training, I used those skills and techniques to start my own business in 2012. The initial focus was on bite-sized desserts, but when I did a favor for my mother-in-law involving hand decorated, bite-sized flower cookies, a passion was ignited for artisan, hand-decorated cookies, and a new direction for my business.
My favorite step in the process is creating an original cookie design. With over 4,000 different cookie cutters (and counting), I enjoy searching for the perfect cutter, or using a cutter in an unexpected way or not as intended. While certain tricks and techniques can provide a “Wow,” it’s the uniqueness in the design I take great pride in.
Unlike most artists, I WANT you to destroy my creation. I make sure my cookies taste as wonderful as they look. So often I hear people say, “It’s too pretty to eat!” While I enjoy the compliment, I want you to enjoy the flavor and happiness a cookie brings when eating it.
I get so much joy from the reactions of my customers, especially children. Knowing a silly little thing like decorating a cookie can bring a smile to so many faces makes my art very rewarding... For me AND you!
